Bend it like a Banana!

How are you doing guys?

My trip is coming to an end, and there's less than a week (with quite intense classes 2-3 times a day) left before I leave. It's been a nice experience to be here, but I'm also getting excited about going back home. Some emotional things are still hard to handle, but I'm still hanging in there(!) trying to keep my focus on what's here and now. David Swenson (one of the worlds best yoga teachers) has been here for a week now, and I've learned a lot. I had a great practice this morning. I've felt quite stiff for a while (how weird when practicing that much...!), but today I felt like I could do almost any asana/posture. I did inverted (read: upside-down) postures like handstands and headstands, twists, feet's behind the head, back bends, forward bends... Yeah...! Bend it (your yourself) like a banana!

I went to the beach between the classes yesterday. I was going to meet up with some other people, but didn't find them and ended up with an after noon at the beach all by myself. It was actually quite nice and relaxing. I'm going again today hoping to get a nice tan before I go back. Starting to get a little hysterical about that now...

Tonight I'm actually going tango! :-) I never thought I was going to dance any while being here, but one of the massage therapist at the retreat actually know some tango. He's an old man (60 years old, and still haveing a nice yoga practice!), and not really a professional dancer, but it's still good to have some variation from the yoga. We went out dancing one night last week as well, and it was great fun.

I haven't bought very much during the time I've been here, but friday I went completely (coco)nuts at the market! This time I didn't just buy a lot of fruits, but also some clothes, sandals, new film for my camera (since I haven't got a digital one yet... So now you guy's know what to buy me for Christmas... :-D ), some homeopathic stuff from the pharmacy and gifts for my friends and loved ones back home... I've also had a churidar (the clothing that Indian women are wearing) made for me, so now I'm walking around like a real indian woman. (Don't have a picture to show you yet.)

Yesterday I went to a beauty salon. It's cheap (never do that in Norway because it's soooo expensive. I had a facial, coconut head massage, and both french pedicure and manicure. It felt great! Actually I think I'll go back one more time before I go home, so that I can go back and feel like a princess...

Hugasana to you all

Caïla
