Back in Norway

Hi all,

Just dropping a line to tell you my flight was okay, and that I'm safely back home (with a lot of over weight...).

Leaving birdi-birdie-nam-nam

Dear all my friends and loved ones,

I just got back from my last trip to the beauty salon, and I feel like a princess (ready to meet my prins). I'm off to the beach in a minute to have my last swim before going home. I leave Goa this afternoon (14th of April). It will take me a stretched hure to get to the airport, and at 17 I have a flight to Mombay. My next flight is not before the next morning, and I'm so excited about spending the whole evening and the whole night at the airport in Mombay that I barely can't wait...!! :-( Well, I have a stop in Vienna on my way back as well, and I'll arrive in Oslo during midday at the 15th. I've enjoyed my time here in India, but I'm also very much looking forward to see you all. I'd love to go out and have a coffie (=fresh juice) once I'm back.

...and to my new friends from Purple Valley: I'm going to miss you all. Please keep in touch, and I hope to meet up with you in another at yoga workshop sometime. :-)

...and to my friends in the city of angels: Keep in touch, guys. I might soon make reality of my plans... See ya!

Guess what...! During the last workshop I met a norwegian girl working for the same company (NLP Centeret) as myself!! The world is not so big after all... The workshop with David Swenson has been very different from the one with his brother Doug. In difference from Dougs workshop in yoga flow, the last workshop has been more intense training (mysore), and also very useful teaching in the afternoon class. Most of my time here I've had a really good and intense practise. I've learned a lot! I've started on the second series, and are happy to have some new challenging postures to work on even though the yoga itself is even more important. Some days I'll say I've had good practice because I've had more piece of mind, and other days I've had a good practice because I've mastered some new postures. Yet there are days I feel stiff, tired and out of balance, and don't even manage to get piece of mind for three breaths during a whole practice....

I'm thinking seriously about starting to teach yoga when I come back. Well, maybe not even in Norway... I love teaching, and I enjoy yoga very much. So teaching yoga would be to do something that is really important to me, and also be able to pass on something I consider to be very valuable.

I've really enjoyed my yoga and stay here in northern Goa. Goa is a catholic state, and quite westernized. For my next trip to India I want to go to the beaches of southern Goa, but also spend some time traveling in other states in India. I would love to go to some of the Buddhist states, and I'm sure that's going to be a whole difference experience. Well, it's good to save something for later as well...

Yesterday I went with some people to a full moon party. The day that everyone goes a little crazy, right?! It was all trance music (not my style), but we had great fun anyway. And look at the great view we had! Isn't it wonderful?

I really enjoy to read the comments, and are very grateful that you take the time to write me. Please keep on writing me, and I hope to see you all soon!

:-) :-) :-)

I guess this is goodbye to birdi-birdie-nam-nam-land...

Great hug from
Caïla

Bend it like a Banana!

How are you doing guys?

My trip is coming to an end, and there's less than a week (with quite intense classes 2-3 times a day) left before I leave. It's been a nice experience to be here, but I'm also getting excited about going back home. Some emotional things are still hard to handle, but I'm still hanging in there(!) trying to keep my focus on what's here and now. David Swenson (one of the worlds best yoga teachers) has been here for a week now, and I've learned a lot. I had a great practice this morning. I've felt quite stiff for a while (how weird when practicing that much...!), but today I felt like I could do almost any asana/posture. I did inverted (read: upside-down) postures like handstands and headstands, twists, feet's behind the head, back bends, forward bends... Yeah...! Bend it (your yourself) like a banana!

I went to the beach between the classes yesterday. I was going to meet up with some other people, but didn't find them and ended up with an after noon at the beach all by myself. It was actually quite nice and relaxing. I'm going again today hoping to get a nice tan before I go back. Starting to get a little hysterical about that now...

Tonight I'm actually going tango! :-) I never thought I was going to dance any while being here, but one of the massage therapist at the retreat actually know some tango. He's an old man (60 years old, and still haveing a nice yoga practice!), and not really a professional dancer, but it's still good to have some variation from the yoga. We went out dancing one night last week as well, and it was great fun.

I haven't bought very much during the time I've been here, but friday I went completely (coco)nuts at the market! This time I didn't just buy a lot of fruits, but also some clothes, sandals, new film for my camera (since I haven't got a digital one yet... So now you guy's know what to buy me for Christmas... :-D ), some homeopathic stuff from the pharmacy and gifts for my friends and loved ones back home... I've also had a churidar (the clothing that Indian women are wearing) made for me, so now I'm walking around like a real indian woman. (Don't have a picture to show you yet.)

Yesterday I went to a beauty salon. It's cheap (never do that in Norway because it's soooo expensive. I had a facial, coconut head massage, and both french pedicure and manicure. It felt great! Actually I think I'll go back one more time before I go home, so that I can go back and feel like a princess...

Hugasana to you all
